With over 20 years of Financial Sector experience across three organisations, Lucien has spent 10 of those years at ABSA Bank where he has provided invaluable sales support and execution in delivering the prescribed strategy for the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) division. His last 5 years at Absa Bank Limited, he has a held a Senior Banker role, specifically focused on the Middle East and Southeast Asia Corridors. The Role requires Lucien to enable and to increase ABSA’s Presence in the respective target corridors and to ensure the ability to drive and execute the company’s International Strategy and acquire New to Bank Mandates while defending ABSA’s existing client base. In his time with ABSA, Lucien has increased his Corridor Performance, while also bringing in significant new to bank targets and securing key RFP mandates for the firm. He currently manages +/- 110 client groups and a big part of his role demands that he positions the bank holistically. Lucien is Sector Agnostic and understands the African Regional Landscape exceptionally well. Due to his work experience and relationship skills, Lucien has made key contacts with several Financial Institutions, Multinational Corporates, Business Chambers and Embassies and has demonstrated the ability to design, implement and drive strategy. Lucien has also been an integral piece in the ABSA UAE Office Strategy development, which included building a business case, client base and set up a heat map of ABSA’s entry and sustained intent into Middle East and Asia region.
